Ohtani also singled on a 2-for-2 day but the team lost their third game of the four in the series to fall to a 6-18 record in July.
Ok, but the Angels starting pitcher, Reid Detmers, struck out 12, and gave up only 3 hits and one earned run in 7 innings.

Ok we all know he is Japanese!! Why does JT always have to report "Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani" . Did the Japanese people really forget and have to be reminded?

FFS, trade the poor guy. The Angels are a lost cause and are wasting a once in a lifetime talent.

and had an immaculate inning as well but Ohtani is the only player on the team I guess.

Getting to double-digit wins would make him the first player since Babe Ruth to have 10 wins as a pitcher and 10 home runs as a hitter in the same season.
When Babe Ruth hit that milestone, he had a 2.22 ERA, led the AL in home runs, and OPS, and slugging percentage.
In addition to pitching, he also played the outfield, as opposed to Ohtani, who DHs but doesn't play a position other than pitcher.
And the year prior, Babe Ruth won more games pitching in that season than Ohtani has won in his career (4 seasons).
