Japan will have Shohei Otani, who will be the biggest star of the LA Olympics because he plays for the local team. I can’t think of any other athlete who could compete with him for the most interest in LA.

Of course with the pressure from the US for Baseball to return to Olympics...
They are scared because China can beat them on their own land and they need to get as many madallas, in any way possible, bypassing anyone...
TaiwanIsNotChina
Right, it totally has nothing to do with baseball being a major sport here. Time for China and TokyoLiving to stop thinking about the US.

I would love to see baseball in the Olympics. Like soccer, many local talents get recruited by the overseas leagues (for the right reasons) and it’s nice to see them come together representing their home country. Also, it’s a sports that brings out the balance between the individual talent and the teamwork.

If the best players are playing then great. I look forward to it. Some people say that team sports shouldn't be in the Olympics but I think that for sports like water polo, handball, volleyball and hockey, the Olympics is the pinnacle of their sport and so you see the best players. If baseball goes the football (soccer) route then I think baseball will be one and done. Please allow your best players to play and showcase your sport to a larger audience.
NOMINATION
Unless the MLB is shutting the league down for 3-4 weeks, there is no chance Ohtani is playing.

Baseball is huge and should be included in the Olympics.

Limited worldwide appeal but if the host country has existing venue(s), there’s a reasonable case for its inclusion.

Oh, please. . .please let it be minor league and or amateur players. The NBA in the Olympics sort of makes things a little unfair. Good to have baseball back, but no Aaron Judge or Ohtani. Level the playing field a bit.

They can set regulations like soccer only under the age of 23 with 3 players exceptions.

Stop, you're going to make me spit up my gyoza. Keep telling yourself lies.

They could extend or move the all-star break or get rid of it altogether for this one year to fit the Olympics into the schedule. It'll probably be mostly Triple A players in the game so they may not need to do anything. I want the U.S. to get gold but the World Series trophy is waaay more important.

Would it be great to see Japan win 2028. The Japanese players are hard to beat at the moment without Shohie and plus. Those who are chosen from the Pacific League will benefit from playing with the all time great. It will be a once in a life time chance and those players will certainly lifted to a higher standard. The MBL will continue during the Olympics because they have advanced contract to honor. But not allowing players to play for their country won’t go down well.

All players should be required to perform a break dance at home plate after an HR to spice up things up and keep the legacy of Paris 2024 alive

Not sure what a "Madalla" is, outside of a small town in Nigeria, but China has never produced a single Major league Baseball player, is not even third tier at the sport comapred to South Korea and Japan.
Sorry.

If people want to see more amateur athletes in the Olympics, then they'd want to see the minor leaguers in the Olympics!
(Well, they're not really amateurs, but as close as ya gonna get. I mean, they get paid pittance)
Cricket will be in LA 2028 too
As well as lacrosse, squash, and flag football!
At one point, MLB coaches had to teach China that relief pitchers don't have to keep warming up in the bullpen in sync with their starting pitcher - that just means their relief pitchers would be as tired as their starting pitcher! (Relief pitchers only need to warm up just before they get into the game)
But the issue is the allocation of resources:
