He's married to a former Nippon Ham Fighters cheerleader. (He was a translator for the Fighters' gaijin players when Ohtani was on the team.)

So he probably won't be a third wheel. More likely they'll do a lot of double-dates.

Getting married will affect his performance on the field as well through his emotions fluctuating! He is only human after all ! Either way, congratulations to him and hopefully he can find happiness in his marriage life!

Ohtani is very quiet, very private and very consistent in the way he goes about doing things. I would tend to agree with one poster here. The lady of his life I would think would be someone from home town possibly a high school sweetheart who he has known for a long time. Congratulations to Ohtani and his wife and Decoy!! At least when he is on the road she will have some company!!

Likely a childhood sweetheart then. It should be a girl he knows before he ever left the country to play baseball abroad. Considering he was so focus on baseball and barely ever had time to interact with anything else, she definitely had to be someone he knew from even very young and likely lived near his home.
