Bach failed the world’s athletes … again.

In a letter sent to IOC president Thomas Bach, in a copy obtained by AP, attorneys for the skaters said they sought a decision before Sunday's closing ceremony. - The letter sent on behalf of the American runners-up says …

… the IOC's "own rules mandate that a victory ceremony 'to present medals to the athletes shall follow the conclusion of each sports event.” -

Congratulations” to ALL medal winners!

Ahem, … It’s Norway 16, Deutschland 12, China 9

or

Norway 37, Deutschland 27, Canada 26, U.S. 25, and China 15 totals medals each.

- @TokyoLiving 5:30pm: “Ehemm, China 9 golds - US 8... LOOOOL!!..

Btw: It’s “Ahem” in British or North American English, oKay? (Not sure what language that last exclamation is.)

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is an incongruity, confusing the need to address the task at hand.

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is incapable to fully judge the perspective from approach and context.

So we have one decision in direct collision with the outcome of the next.

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has to be reformed, replaced, or discarded altogether.

Valieva's predicament has focused attention once more on Russian athletes at Olympic Games and the IOC's decision to allow Russians supposedly clean of doping to participate.

They are taking part in Beijing under the banner of the Russian Olympic Committee because Russia as a country is serving a two-year ban as punishment for a state-sponsored doping program.

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) are directly responsible from cutting the four year ban.

You missed a country between Norway and Germany

Sincerest apologies @Alex 7:51 pm for the unintentional oversight.

@6:06pm Should read:

“*Norway 37, Russian Olympic Committee 32, Deutschland 27, Canada 26, U.S. 25, and China 15 totals medals each.” - *

And, once again, “Congratulations” to ALL medal winners!

I prefer quality over quantity.

Norway, Germany and China did extremely well.

Actually, @samuraivunyl 6:02pm, the Americans “love it” no more that the Northern Europeans (and just a-little-more than the Brits) if litigation were an Olympic sport.

According to the European American Chamber of Commerce, while it’s true that the U.S. has a large number of lawsuits, it barely cracks ‘the Top 5 most litigious countries’ in the world:

Germany: 123.2/1,000

Sweden: 111.2/1,000

Israel: 96.8/1,000

Austria: 95.9/1,000

U.S.: 74.5/1,000.

And, the American numbers are not much greater than the other countries listed in the top 10.  The Top 10 includes:

the UK (64.4); Denmark (62.5); Hungary (52.4); Portugal (40.7); and France (40.3).

@samuraivunyl 6:02pm: “Americans love to go to court, regardless of what is being disputed. And then when the court rules against them, it’s not justice!” -

Americans love to go to court, regardless of what is being disputed.

Not love, but when we feel there was an injustice done, we’re going to challenge it, why would we not? Why would anyone for that matter?

And then when the court rules against them, it’s not justice!

Depends on the case, but that’s everywhere. It’s not an American thing. If there is a legal system that you know is there that be the arbitrary of fairness, use it.

How convenient of you to forget that China bought 2 of those golds that belong to the US thanks to Gu Ailing. The correct count, if you include the figure skating team gold that should be given to the US after the investigation, would be US 11, China 7.

Well thank god Gus Kenworthy didn't win a gold (he came 8th), otherwise USA would be trying to snatch it from GB. However, USA owes Canada a gold medal, courtesy of Kaillie Humphries.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Eileen CHOSE to represent China so China has 9 golds. Cry ab it.

The US team just want their medals and Olympic moment - they don't even mind if it's silver

But if it's any consolation, it'll most likely become gold

So Russia will lose a gold, the US will gain a gold, Japan will gain a silver, and Canada will gain a bronze

So the US will finish with 9 Golds but remain with 25 medals, 3rd behind powerhouses Norway and Germany

Perhaps one needs to go back a little further @FinderKeeper 12:44pm and learn the source ?

He's well aware of it. He's just another right wing troll. I would not be surprised if these 2 accounts belong to the same person.

Depends on the day. Some perform at 1/4 speed.
