Zero corona is failing. Omicron wave will force Beijing to beg foreign delegates to "boycott" or cancel their visit...quite ironic.

Sponsors include big household names like Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Visa, Toyota, Airbnb, and Panasonic

All turn a blind eye to genocide, just like the corrupt IOC, those watching and the athletes. It all comes down to greed and selfishness.

Boycott the Genocide Games.

Somehow, the images of suffering Uighurs in concentration camps do not gel with athletes celebrating under corporate logos…

and Sapporo, Japan, is a top contender for the 2030 Winter Games.

Oh god, not again.

I just heard the Canadian hockey team has pulled out and how many more teams and individuals will follow. So it may not even be an issue for those sponsors, because if there are few athletes participating no one will watch.

this is not true. Canada's hockey team will participate in the Olympics.

NHL players are not eligible to participate (COVID reason).

If the one good thing to come out of the sinophobic hysteria from the western world is the end of the Olympics wholesale, I suppose I will take it. It really isn't looking like it though. Sponsors would have pulled out or disavowed involvement by now if that were the case.

There is NOTHING "sinophopic" about calling out Communist China over their genocide against minorities (worst since Nazi Germany), constant threats and warlike behaviour toward peaceful neighbors, and all other reprehensible behaviour this totalitarian state engages in.

Only collaborators would NOT voice opposition to Communist China.

The Zeta variant will take care of that one

I am so done watching or thinking about the Olympics. Last summer really did it for me, I can't unsee how corrupt, greedy, and selfish all the people involved are. I think most people are like this now, and sponsors are noticing. The IOC needs to clean up its act.

Also slightly related, if you want to know more about the Olympics doping scandal from a few years back, Icarius was a great documentary on Netflix about it. It even got an academy award.

Companies who sponsor these games will face being equated with sponsoring genocide and face world wide boycotts of all their product lines.

The movement has already begun, will probably remain a grass roots movement as mainstream media is reluctant to antagonize advertisers.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Boycott companies that is sponsoring genocide.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Have they come up with evidence of genocide yet? That a factory or school photo equals genocide is wishful thinking.

kurispisu;

If you've got photos then show us. This is all tales from America, NED and the Christian fanatic Adrian Zenz, along with its lackies, UK and Australia making up more lies from 'satellite photos' and debunked testimonies from 'victims' whose familes back in Xinjiang don't even know what the heck the victims are going on about. 'Suffering', my foot. What's called a prison is somehow called a concentration camp in China. People working in factories are somehow called slaves in China. This is what happens when people put their trust in MSM only. The UN and Associated Press have confirmed that nothing was found. Spot checks by Nike and H&M have found nothing. I'm not saying China is perfect, but America is doing everything to prevent losing world hegemony and sharing global power, and that includes making up lies and stirring up trouble by funding it across the world.

It's funny how the west hates Muslims and Chinese, but somehow cares about Chinese Muslims. You'll find more mosques in Xinjiang than any country in the west.

Everyone should boycott the Olympics because of the slave labor and systematic extermination (sterilization) of a Muslim ethnicity not Han in China. Not to mention, China has caused and covered up another pandemic that the world is still dealing with.

We should also boycott the sponsors! We should also boycott Japanese companies supporting the Junta and the massacres being committed in Myanmar.

I'm still waiting for the sponsors of FIFA to boycott the Qatar Games over abuses against foreign workers, LGBTQ and women. Unlike China, Qatar actually discriminates against foreign LGBTQ and women as well. Otherwise these actions are nothing but party politics and should be condemned.

@quercetum......I had a class mate in Japan who is a Uyghur. Her family member ( a doctor) was kidnapped by the Chinese government. Taken from their family home in the middle of the night. No different than being arrested in Japan. No one heard from him for six months. She was contacted by the Chinese government to return to China or others in her family would also disappear. This was 3 years ago. No one has heard from her since.

Is that enough evidence that something is not right in China?

Any nation that abuses the basic rights of a human being should be boycott and isolated, China is NOT the only one , several nations are abusing the basic rights of their own citizens and are not even being called out.

If you'd actually do some research, you'd find that ethnic minorities were NEVER subjected to the one-child policy unlike the ethnic Han. But then again, it's easy to agree with the western MSM lies. The ethnic minorities are also given special privileges when it comes to applying to universities. There's a reason why cafeterias in every single Chinese university also serve halal meals. There are mosques ALL over China. Even large mosques in faraway Guangzhou.

It's funny how many American officials have applied for diplomatic visas to attend the Beijing Olympics. I thought there was supposed to be a diplomatic boycott. Well go ahead, USA, try for a full boycott. China won't even care.

If China won't care, then why:

China warns Olympics diplomatic boycott nations will 'pay the price'

Can't have it both ways

This is precisely the wrong time for major sponsors to be turning a blind eye to China's disgraceful human-rights record and activities..... for once, they have a chance to do the right thing by sending the loudest possible message to the vicious CCP and withdraw completely from these Games of Charades - China is not a fit and proper nation to be hosting Olympics, and needs to have this spelled out loud-and-clear

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Everyone should boycott the Olympics because of the slave labor and systematic extermination (sterilization) of a Muslim ethnicity not Han in China.

The Uighur Tribunal couldn’t even come up with evidence of systemic sterilization. Their conclusion is “alleged sterilization.” See the BBC article.

Why is it then that China approved the visa applications for US officials visiting Beijing for the games?

The diplomatic boycott and the threat the US will pay the price are just talk.

The genocidal activities of the Chinese government must be addressed by the sponsors. They are only too vocal in democratic countries with their virtue signaling morals. They must step up when there is objective morality at stake

@Fighto!

Only collaborators would NOT voice opposition to Communist China.

Responding mostly for the sake of anyone that might come across this, even though I am sure I won't convince you.

You don't get to just claim a country is committing genocide without any proof. Satellite photos of school buildings is not genocide and are not "concentration camps". Schools where they are actually teaching in the minority language are not "cultural genocide" either. We don't live in an era where people can be willfully ignorant of these things either, in the age of readily available information we live in, surely there should be some hard evidence? Not just a handful of anecdotal accounts from people in a position to benefit from said accounts.

There has never in history been a genocide resulting in the actual growth of the minority group in question; they must be having a staggering amount of children.

Now if you have this evidence, please by all means share it. That would be a world-shattering breakthrough.

So yes, going full McCarthy and blacklisting everything that comes out of China for no other reason than because it's the CIA smear campaign of the week is absolutely sinophobic.

I fail to see how that is evidence for mass killings and systemic sterilization. Please explain.
