I am NOT a Chiba Lotte Marines fan however I am a huge Bobby Valentine fan and if the owners of the Marines can not see what a great manager they have, it will be a huge loss to their organization. However Bobby won't be out of work for long I am sure of, he will either end up with one of the other teams here in Japan kicking the Marines butts with a revengeful pride or he will be back in the USA with a MLB team very, very quickly and be making even bigger money than he is asking to stay with the team that he loves. GO BOBBY !!!! Fan of his since he was a AAA Spokane Indians Minor Leaguer for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Roark Stephens

Wow Hammers, Bobby's AAA Spokane days go way back! Always fun baseball there.I think Bobby might want out of his contract if the owner says it's a financial issue. He'd be a great loss to Chiba, but I agree he'll be coaching in 2010. I'd bet with the Washington Nationals.

Save your money and sent Bobby V back where he belongs.

If Jerry Manuel got sacked after the regular season and the Marines let Bobby go, that might be a possibility. But, who knows? I reckon that Bobby and the club president(Setoyama)had several disagreements-- especially over the team directions and his role as a manager in the off-season in the last few years. Last winter, he secretly flew to Puerto Rico and joined in a winter meeting to recruit the foreign players for the next season. When the J-media reported his off-season activity, the club was not very happy with that.
