As for the Modern pentathlon, I agree that horse jumping should be excluded...

olympic boxing has been used as a platform for great boxers like Ali, Lennox Lewis and Mayweather May get cancelled but break dancing and skateboarding not in danger?! The olympics and the ioc are becoming a joke no one will want to host and only emos will want to watch..

IOC wants boxing money! They want potential World Champions to funnel money back to them. It has become harder to rig Olympic boxing matches, so there is no money in it for them.

Breakdancing won't the the last youth-oriented Olympic sport addition.

The next one to join Olympics is E-Sports.

Soon video sport games.

I think Olympic spirit has been going astray since removing any old sport by a more lucrative one.

It should be always more sports, ever removing one.

Personally for me, a sport by definition should be against a goal (time, number, another team) and never an assessment from a human.

OG is becoming more of a profitable circus than a demonstration of sheer will to "fight" against odds.

Yet by then playing video games will be an Olympic sport.

Boxing is one of the few sports that offers an opportunity to people living in poverty in hard and rough areas a way out. IOC is losing touch big time. Hands off boxing!

This Tokyo olimpics were also just a good chance so that a real estate developer can put his hands on Tsukiji a prime property next to Ginza.

Need to replace the Modern Pentathlon with a Medieval Times style pentathlon. Maybe combine Medieval style combat with the skateboarding, with Knights in full armour chasing each other around on skateboards.

If sports such as boxing are too corrupt even for the corrupt IOC (which I find hard to believe) and if the IOC is at war with itself over FIFA head money-chaser and IOC bigwig Infantino’s plans for the World Cup, then it’s time to pull down the shutters and kick the Olympic Games back into the shadows for another couple of millennia. Maybe by then humanity will have remembered what they were supposed to be all about.

The IOC has issues with corruption:) That can only mean someone isn’t funnelling enough of the kickbacks to the IOC!

The Olympics as a sports event has become utterly meaningless; the criteria is no longer competition, striving for excellence or demonstration of prowess, it is whether there is a big enough tv audience of couch potatoes for the advertisers to pay the IOC enough money.

Yes eventing is expensive (so is dedicating your time to excel at any sport) but they get sponsorship, some of the best have come from humble backgrounds and many people love horses, racing and eventing who will never have the money or ability to do it, but that is of no concern to Bach, only what brings in the money to the IOC that is the sole reason for the Olympics.

These so called Problem Children have a problem with transgenda ? ( Is that with capital ? T ) I assume this has nothing to do with drugs or corruption. If that is the case Cycling would be first on the Problem Children list. So I also assume the these new sport categories will be targeted by transgenda Sportsman or Sportswoman or Sports human. I also assume Sport climbing will be their number one targeted seeing they cannot get a gig at the Olympics weightlifting or boxing anymore.
