Canada beats U.S. 2-0 to claim gold in women's hockey

Good job to all! I was following the play by play on the computer during breaks and it looked pretty intense. A nice ending to an event otherwise dominated by the two teams.

CoolCali: That would be a fun game indeed. I still like the Canada/Russia pair up better, but since it's the gold medal match it would have a different kind of intensity. Plus it would be their second matching this time around, so more to prove. Of course, they have to make it there, first.

You've got to be kidding if you're making a comparison here. Overall there is far more competition in the men's league than the women's. I mean, you can't seriously say watching the Canadian women win 18-1 was exciting. There is no competition amongst the women save for the US and Canada. With the men, while the US and Canada still tend to fair better than most, you have Russia, Sweden, and other teams that provide amazing competition and even sometimes do far better than the aforementioned. It's likely to be a Canada/US final, but you never know. With the women, it was all but guaranteed.

Canadian women win the gold, and the American men will win the gold.. sounds fair to me. USA! USA! USA!

I'm assuming you're making a comparison to Canada, USA, or Russia playing against the lower seeded teams. Other than that it is a very high level of competition and very entertaining. I hope the NHLers keep playing at the Olympics. Ovechkin wants revenge!
