“Hey, why not?” Pujols smiled when asked if he’d like to stay in St Louis and try for another Major League Baseball title next year.

I suppose that's still better than him saying, "Depends on how much my agent can rake in for me," which is really what professional sports are about these days.

Serious question. Can someone please explain why it is called the "World Series". Is it a domestic US competition, or do some games take place in other countries? Like I say this is a serious question and not a wind up. Thanks

It has been called the World Series way back when the whole major-league baseball-playing world was indeed just America and nowhere else. They just keep it for tradition. But yes, MLB games do take place in one other country - Canada.

lostrune2 wrong answer , it is called worlds because of the involvement in the early days of The World Newspaper, they just retained the name is all. But it is about time it was changed to reflect the true title of this localised cup, it isnt a world event there fore should not use the World in its title, it is extremely misleading.
