Ferreira gets so little playing time these days the Chelsea fans would struggle to recognise him, never mind your average Starbucks customer in Yokohama.

Yeah BS. There aren't enough people in a random Starbucks here to recognise and mob Torres, let alone Cech and Ferreira. PR.

Chelsea were the luckiest team to ever win the European Champions League having been totally outplayed by Barcelona in the semi-final and Bayern in the final itself. Now they have already been knocked out of this season's ECL and are already 10 points behind Manchester United in the English Premier League. Hard to believe they would be mobbed anywhere other than outside Stamford Bridge. Also, Ferreira is only a second-rate fringe player.

a little sensationlism in the headline?? They were not mobbed, they were just inundated with anxious fans trying to get a glimpse or autograph..

Don't know if you're a Chelsea supporter, but if you were, you'd be happy that if your team wins the Club World Cup trophy it will be the ONLY piece of silverware that will be brought home to Stamford Bridge this season, keeping in mind of course that as the European Champions (albeit very lucky ones) it should be a given that they win the Club World Cup in light of the dominance of European football compared to the other world confederations this past decade? And, I might add, if it were me I wouldn't feel too good about the fact that competing for this same trophy next year isn't even possible for Chelsea anymore and I would probably be feeling a bit disgraced that this very side competing for the CWC trophy couldn't even qualify for the CL this year. That's really sad.

Sorry. This is news?

Chelsea! I am from Chelsea and have had my lights punched out by a Millwall fan outside Stamford Bridge. Most or all of the Chelsea players, on the other hand, are not from the same country.

I am amazed that no one seems to realize that an event like this world team cup will only draw customers in places like Japan. The only game that would draw a medium crowd in Paris or Berlin, would be Chelsea vs Conithians. The rest of the games can hardly be called real soccer.... They are not even shown on european public TV.

Don't be so harsh. For a japanese soccer fan it is a great event to see soemone who actually plays what can actually be called real soccer....

Yeah right... ONLY the Club World Cup... The same one that only the Champions of Europe could play in? SO for a Europ club to play in this tournament they have to win the Champion's League. Jealousy will get you no where son...

Stick to baseball Yank!
