Let this sink in:

Chen's winning streak hasn't been done by Yuzuru Hanyu. Neither has Patrick Chan. Nor even Yuna Kim, Mao Asada, or Yevgenia Medvedeva

Chen's winning streak is the longest since Yevgeny Plushenko nearly two decades ago

the only thing that matters is Olympic gold,

& Hanyu has two of them !

Let that sink in

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Hanyu definitely has 2 Olympic golds - the first repeat Olympic champion since 1952

Chen will most likely get his first in a few months in Beijing. And if Chen doesn't retire after that, he has a good chance to bag another gold in the next Olympics

That's because nobody is even close to Chen right now - even Hanyu hasn't beaten Chen since the 2018 Olympics. Chen's free skate starting difficulty is so high that even if he performs it just OK, it's already a big gap for the next skater to bridge. Chen has the Top 2 (and 4 out of the Top 5) highest scores ever
