I understand wanting to build up for the Olympics, but this is a big stage and it will be embarassing if they can't improve on this. Ueda had several chances to get Japan back in the match but missed all of them.

Japan is just not good enough to compete at this level. The defending was woeful and it could have easily been 8-0....

Chile is a real good soccer team. But I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with this result by Samurai Blue. I think Nadeshiko Japan can probably defeat Samurai Blue.

I did not know Japan was in South America...

The South America Confederation is made up of 10 teams

If they want competitions consisting of Groups of 4 teams, they have no choice but to invite 2 outside teams - which they've been doing since 1993
