The ref you are talking about was suspended for 2 years due to incompetence. Hes back and judging again due to his connections. I am not making this up. Please tell me what exactly South Korea did to warrant a disqualification. There was no push, no intentional trip or hint of malice towards the Chinese players. The Chinese skater tripped on her own after she stepped on the Korean girls skate.

Complete nonsense!!! The Korean guy himself said he didn't want to win this way. He said he expected to be on the stage, but not winning the gold. He literally said that Kramer is the greatest skater at present and that he feels very sorry for his misfortune.

I've been watching heaps of replays and it's pretty clear the Chinese woman came in far too close behind the Korean and nearly tripped over her skate. Cheering that ANYONE was disqualified because of a bad call is just wrong, bud.

Never thought I would be cheering for the Chinese sports production line. Yu-na on the other hand is one of the sweetest politest girls in the world, I dont mind her winning, so its not all Koreans.

The Chinese skater nearly fell because she stepped on the Korean girls skates. If anything, the Chinese skater should have been disqualified for attempting to trip the Korean. Needless to say, this is one of the worst calls I have ever seen in my life. On the bright side, im pretty sure the decision will be reversed because of how obviously bad the judging was.

Yeah, Korean skater with her left hand pushed the Chinese skater on the first turn after the change. It was a small nudge, but rules are rules. The look on Park Seung-Hi's while the other teams raising their flags was kinda sad though. Even if the Koreans are like the Broad Street Bullies of Short Track.

The Korean skater was already in the inner lane if anything it was the qinese skater's who's at fault who got on her way, and she didn't push the qinese skater it was her skate's blades that touched which doesn't make a dsq.

"Short Track" is a sport as evidenced by the fierce competition, plus it's easier to build these smaller rinks. Ever been to a long-track facility? -try finding one.

People need to look at the positives of this "incident." Korean coaches will be able to push their athletes even harder and the athletes can exclaim how much they have suffered. In the end it is all about who suffers the most -people need to appreciate their suffering if they want to taste success.

Kim Yu-Na would say there is no crying in skating. -but she is a professional who earns $8M a year -that is some sweet success and worth the suffering. Great athletes know how to suffer more than the average it seems.

The long track speed skating is the "pure" skating sport.

The short track is there for entertainment and to increase the number of medal events years ago to raise the number of days of Winter Olympics coverage for the networks broadcasting them.

It is a marginal Olympic sport at best.

There are always going to be problems with accidents in this so-called sport, and someone is going to get screwed over at times, depending on your point of view.

The Koreans take big chances in their pursuit of short track golds. Sometimes you win, sometimes you bite the dust.

Love - it was actually China that won after this highly dubious disqualification. I watched this and thought it was a joke - the koreans did not impede the Chinese. There is far more impediment at the changeovers in the relay. These zero officials hust wanted to get themselves in the limelight for 5 minutes. I feel for these poor Korean girls - and their coach was going ballistic, let me tell you!

This was a tough call for the ref., and regardless of which he made it was going to make one side angry. It's a stinging coincidence that it's the same ref. who made the call 8 years ago against the Koreans to give... you guessed it... Ohno the gold. Ouch.

US got lucky on this. They were nowhere close to the top 3 teams.

I saw the race and it was pretty good... Always too bad when things happen and teams/individuals get DQ'd.

And yeah, the South Korean coach was very angry and yelled at the judge. I wonder how the newspapers in South Korea will handle this.

The difference is that it was dutch team's own mistake while this is a deliberate bad call from the referee.

Apparently the one referee that was there was the same who disqualified Kim Don Sung in Salt Lake 2002 and gave gold to Ohno. His name is James Hewish and is Australian. I want to see him fired from any competition.
