get in city!

brilliant stuff, especially after the unfairly disallowed goal and equaliser. Mahrez back to his best too.

A disappointing race for the title. All credit to City who’ve been superb for months now, but it looked like an interesting fight between a few sides in December.

I’d back City to win this by over 20 points.

They got to be winning, come on. Spending over the last decade is £1.421bn. Any second place or runner-up is a failure.

Yes, because spending the most money is a 100% guarantee of winning everything there is. Nothing to do with having a world class manager or buying smart.

hopefully the day that pool or utd will spend even 1m gbp more than us will never arrive, because that'll be the day they win everything and not city.

Guardiola is a world class manager, but the spending certainly does help.

Buying smart? How much money have City spent on second-rate defenders who’ve faded into obscurity?

Mendy and Mangala, ill give you those. Really bad. Sagna, average at best.

Otamendi, mixed, but had 1 or 2 stellar seasons. Rest is anywhere between solid and fantastic.

So overall, thats surely pretty good? Every club has buys that dont work out. Nature of the game. City never spend more than 65-70m on one player though....

Danilo? Cancelo?

Guardiola has spent £420 million on defenders alone. This averages over £100m a season.

As I said, Guardiola is a world class manager, but to call it buying smart in this area is a stretch. It has been a pretty scattergun approach

Cancelo is brilliant - best in the league at the moment. Not seen him lately? Needed to get used to system last year.

Danilo had his moments and was solid, but he was swapped/sold anyway.
