I think anyone who gets "stimulated" by a female athlete in a sports bra these days has been in the monastery a little too long.

I'm glad the umpire made that call. It was ridiculous and rightly, the officials apologized, but it brought attention to the issue and I had missed out the whole Serena catsuit - Serena tutu story. So thanks again, silly umpire, and thanks JT for picking up this story. Serena is my hero!

She wasn't on the chair, but on the court. Once a female payer has changed her underwear while sitting on her chair, she didn't get any code violation. There are things you can't do while on the court, males and females alike.

No really JapanToday (and the rest of similar journalists), this is bad reporting, and trying to make a feminist issue where there is actually none.. The rules for changing ON THE COURT are the same for males and females (IT'S NOT OK). While seated in her chair (in the break area) it's fine Which part of this needs a more in-depth explanation? What's so difficult to understand? Here the rule is clearly stated, something any good article should have:

When it's during the changeover halt of play, it could still be considered "being on the player chair"

She could've as easily ran to the chair, changed her shirt, then ran back in 3 secs, no biggie. Nobody cares about that 3 secs, and she just saved people 3 secs of their lives, including the umpire and the opposing player who would have had to wait for her (if I was the opposing player, I definitely would prefer they just do it right there)

But it doesn't matter anymore - the USTA has already changed that policy - ya don't have to actually sit on the chair anymore - that's just being pedantic anyway - a halt of play is a halt of play - who cares where the player is during the halt of play - if they want, they can even run to hide behind the barricades for privacy if they're the modest-type (ironically that extra modesty would've been a code violation if rules are being pedantic)
