I like Darvish not for his handsome looks combined with baseball talent but for his decision to continue to play in Japan. Thus we can enjoy his presence on TV ;)

Poor kid is probably ready for shoulder reconstruction, at the rate they burn him up here. Break your contract and get to the Majors, kid.

Love watching this guy here in Sapporo. If he does go to the majors I hope he dominates. Still 4 more years to go though!

Look. Here. I'm a worthy recipient, even if it only involves the Y30m increase on your previous year's contract.

But if you want to give it all to me, I won't argue.

I watched him play since he was a little boy. He has gone through tremendous stress to get where he is, and it will all end soon enough.

I am not too impressed by sports salaries because they put a price on a pound of flesh. If the game is fun for him, then it is worth it.

He better care about money, because at the rate his team and Japan are forcing him to pitch, he'll be washed up by the time he's 30. He is only 23, but had to take two "injury layoffs" last season. Don't imagine the constant training and pressure he was under last spring due to the WBC had anything to due with it, right? Same for Dice-K this year. You can't expect these guys to throw 12 months a year, even at 23, and not burn out. That's why Wakui should have gone straight to the majors, where they have things like pitch counts/limits to protect the pitchers. And a true off-season.

Give Darvish a credit. He is loyal to the team and for having such a fabulous season, he's did not ask for the bank.
