Isn't this the group that the French papers uncovered were in a judging issue with the Russians and Americans helping each other keep this pair off the podium for gold? Skating reminds me of boxing with all the rigging.

Ah - the old blame-the-coach-after-losing tactic. Maybe they just aren't good enough, seems like very strange timing to start questioning one's coach.

Yes, this sounds like sour grapes. They knew the situation, were not happy with it, but contained the relationship anyway. Who's fault is that?

Why don't you change the coach losers?

Kobuta: "Why don't you change the coach losers?"

So if Mao only gets silver or worse are you going to call her a 'loser' as well? Silver can hardly be called a loss.

In any case, I'm inclined to agree with others on this thread that they knew full well the situation, and yesterday had no grips about it at all, so I don't think they can justifiably complain all of the sudden. Mind you, had the Americans gotten second place they'd be doing the exact same as well. People, and the media, oft complain when they don't achieve the top result.

"... this sounds like sour grapes."

It'd be sour grapes if they said "We didn't want the gold medal anyway."

Yes it is. The results were exactly as L'Equip predicted with Canada getting a silver medal in both the Team skating event (behind Russia) and the pairs dance event (behind the US). If the 2002 scandal taught us anything it's that the Russian skate federation will cheat to win.

Come on be a sport. Your coach was for both of your teams. The judges just saw where Davis/White where flawless in there skating. You came in second,be happy for that. And that you got a medal for your country. They skated flawless to the music, with the twizzle matching the music. That was one thing you didn't do.It's all in the timing of the moves to the music and how perfect they where . They did this everytime they skated. They had by almost 3 points in the last short dance so when judged in free skate they made higher points. You where second best,i'm proud for you.

I wonder if they will look into it. I still remember the days of "figure" being part of the skating marks- though not for dance. Like I said, it reminds me of boxing. Dirty as all can be.

They are being bad sports. This coach trains both of them. She had a reason for being at a completion with Usa. Canada was doing well. She has no favorites. She has done well with both teams. A coach training two different countries and they come in with medals, what a accomplishment. Canada was good in their skate, But USA was flawless thru it all. They are scored on how well they dance to the music with each step and judges felt like USA was the best. I"M glad for both teams.
