Well done Novak Djokovic.

I agree, well done Novak.

He will not be playing as the call comes down to Dan Andrews, the man personally responsible for the worlds longest lockdown and a man who is feeding on the attention he gets from being seen as tough, oh and I forgot about that 90 day lockdown law he is trying to roll through parliament which will give unprecedented powers to . . . Himself.

It's Novak vs the ego of Dan Andrews.

Well done Novak Djokovic.

On what? Refusing a vaccine?

The guy is a nut. Lock him out.

The real point of this difference is that Djokovic even refuses to indicate whether or not he has been inoculated as that "is a private affair".

Whatever he does with Djokovic and other vaccine holdouts, Andrews will cop flak. If he lets him in, it’ll be “aah, one law for the privileged and another law for the rest of us” and if he doesn’t, it’ll be wall-to-wall right-wing yammering about Dictator Dan.

Excluding people who MIGHT be sick is wrong, unfair and doesn't make sense.

I hope we don’t make a special exemption just for him. And I don’t understand why it so hard for him to reveal his vaccination status..our country our requirements, don’t like it? Stay home then.

Good for him.

12 years is the average time it takes to bring a vaccine to market, so he's obviously a critical thinker. And while we are at it, Moderna created their vaccine in only 2 days.

Yep, he made the right decision.

They're not his personal powers. They're the powers of the office he holds, i.e. Premier of the State. If he's as unpopular as you think he is, he'll be booted out of office at the next State election some time next year (because this is a democracy, and there will be an election) and all powers will transfer to his political opponents - who could, of course, repeal those powers if they so wished, or simply choose not to exercise them. Anyway, right-wingers were yammering on during the lockdowns about how all the decisions were being made by unelected officials (i.e. Chief Health Officers). Now they're yammering on about those powers being held by elected officials. Never satisfied.

And by the way I don't agree with the 90-day proposal either, but it's looking like the government will have to make some compromises, including accepting judicial oversight of any use of these powers.

Talking about your medical history to immigration or medical staff is one thing, having a bunch media vultures prying into peoples medical history should be absolutely refused. It is absolutely none of their business whatsoever. What business does a jounalist have to know anything whatsoever about my medical history? None.

Djokovic is a freedom fighter and a hero.

Waiting 12 years in a pandemic for a new disease is stupid. Most vaccines are for pre existing diseases not new ones flooding the globe. An emergency situation deserves emergency actions and that modern medicine can achieve such a relatively fast result when it has the resources is expected in this day and age.

Djokovic can stay home on vacation during the upcoming Aus open. Not vaccinated = no admission. If they let him and others in unvaxxed there will be public outcry against tennis Australia and Dan Andrews.
