I just watched the first set, and I thought Medvedev will win, Djoko seems a bit too relaxed and less focused, making just too many unforced errors. And Medvedev played great. But it seems that Djoko found his competition spirit and took it in the end.

The French crowd is usually rowdy, but this year it was especially bad, maybe because of the long hiatus? Pro players should be mentally tough, but shouting when a player prepares to serve or during the point should be penalized and the offenders kicked out. Tennis is a mental game at this level, and these disruptions do affect the outcome (ask Alcaraz). Cheering mistakes and double faults is also annoying, but I guess there is nothing to be done about it

Yes, right, @timeon, maybe it’s taking any rival all power and resources to gain a set from Djoko. So he then can always easily turn around the match afterwards, even if a good player managed to take lead or win a set.

World Number 1 Novak Djokovic is looking up. The hard-working Serb knows sky is the limit. Congrats to the winner and to his gallant challenger, runner up, and World Number 2 Daniil Medvedev. Well played.
