Meanwhile Kershaw's postseason struggles (jinx?) continue. His ERA in the regular season was 1.69 but it's a whopping 5.84 in the postseason. His WHIP is also an alarming 1.46, about double his regular season numbers.

Nats used 22 players; the Dodgers used 19 players. Both teams used almost everyone in their 25-man rosters.

The Dodgers starting pitcher Hill threw 55 pitches. The Dodgers closer (who, as it turned out, ended up pitching middle relief) Jansen threw 51 pitches - almost as many as their starter.

The last time Kershaw recorded a save as a professional was in the minors Gulf Coast League. There were 22 people in the stands. His catcher in that game: Jansen (yeah, the same Dodgers closer he just relieved for the save).

With almost every Dodger pitcher exhausted, Maeda may end up pitching Game 1 vs. the Cubs.
