Yes after watching unknown students running to Hakone and back over two days anyone would be too bored to start a fight. Most will have lost the urge to live.

It will stay in Japan, its one of those "only in Japan" things.

If it’s a national institution, why haven’t I ever heard of it in my almost 20 years here? Sounds more boring than cross country skiing.
