Well Leicester does have many people of Pakistani origin who may be feeling aggrieved about cancellation of NZ tour of Pakistan.

Not that many, I think. There about 10 times as many people of Indian origin than Pakistani origin. But it only takes one nutcase to cause trouble, so probably irrelevant.

Indians love NZ. Why would any Indian threaten the NZ cricket team? Most Indians hate their own cricket team more than they hate the NZ team. Now if it were the Australian cricket team it could have been an Indian because those guys (and gals) drive everyone mad.

Sorry if I gave out any wrong impression. I was responding to your comment that Leicester had many people of Pakistani origin. There are far fewer than many other cities in the UK. Not that it matters. Only a nutter would threaten a cricket team from any country.

It’s nice to know that visiting foreigners get extra security for a threat that is ‘not credible’ whereas drugtaking on the street is not something that the UK police are interested in
