Since 2022 FIFA should have done something but they clearly prefered to ignore it. Champion or not you are not intouchable and you should be an example, shame on Argentines.

The Argentine players are famous for being unsportsmanlike.
Fighto!
Fernandez sounds like a real piece of work and a repeat offender. Hopefully he is suspended from the Olympics and other team mates involved are also suspended from international games.
Fernandez needs to reflect - there are definitely people out there who would also consider his background "inferior". I wonder how he would feel if they directed some chants toward him?

I heard someone familiar with Argentina’s football culture comment that this kind of thing is seen as ‘banter’ by many.
Time’s up on this kind of ‘banter’, people. It’s just trash.
If you want to join international competitions, act like civilized people. If you can’t, you won’t be missed.

Actually, the chant was about France team being mostly African players while Argentina team is exclusively home bred and no naturalized players of other descents.
For one, you have to give Argentina for being able to win the world Cup and now the Copa America with home bred players.
secondly,
"If there's one thing we are as a country, it's a totally inclusive country. People from all over the world live in Argentina and we treat them as they should be treated."
I have been to Argentina and there is very little if any people from other countries.
I am from California USA and we have everyone from every country living here. all shades.
When I got to Argentina, all I saw was WHITE people. I was shocked as coming from California. I learnt the history and found that the early Europeans settlers killed majority of the dark skinned Natives. A very few remain now.
I got used to seeing White folks everywhere and a week into I saw a Black person. I was shocked as you rarely see anyone of color.
Hence the statement from the Aregentina Manager is not true as the country is not really inclusive.
Fighto!
If people consider the Black French players to be "African" - even though most of them are born in France, then you'd have to say the Argentinian players are largely Italians and Spanish. Including greats like Messi and Maradona.
So those claiming the Argentinian players are "home bred" (and not the Black French) are spreading lies.

Argentina is known for its racism.

Why are we surprised? Racism is rife in South America.

Figures. Like moths to a light.

I wonder where have you learned this from. You should know that as early as 1813 the Argentina passed a law that freed all slaves descendants and granted them a home, also no more slaves where to be trafficked.
In addition to that, UK blocked the slave traffic to South America since 1807.
Finally, contrary to what happened in the US, Spanish colonizers mix with black and indigenous people.

If this was from a European nation there would have been swift and harsh punishment and condemnation from their home nation.

Xlation: 'I'm soooo-oooorey that I got caught using badmouthing language against ethnic groups and using juvenile homophobic slurs like a 7th grader and I swear to my tee-chuh that I'll never ever use such language and get caught on video again.'.
Next thing you know, he'll go to Al-Anon, 'find Jesus', write a book, get on afternoon talk TV and stasrt a new 'career' as a 'motivational speaker' giving lectures in auditoriums about how he 'saw the light' and 'empowerment'.
Oh, BTW. Don't forget to buy his book and CD-ROM on the way out of the lecture.
A rip-off career awaits! This is how we do it in the Good Ol' U.S.A., so why would it be any different in Argentina?
