Good idea, give it a try. And the perfect joke tournament to test it out on!

Finally some common sense, why did it take so long? Other sports have been using this for a long time now.

As theeast said, not a genuine tryout in such a fix of a tournament. About 10 years behind the times.

Bad move. FIFA should just keep the trust in the Ref and let the game play. Replays have hurt most sports they have been in, slowing them down and taking away something that makes sports great, humanity. FIFA should resist the use of replays.

Try telling that to Frank Lampard. If you limit the number of appeals like cricket then it doesnt slow the game. And rugby union is just as exciting to watch because the refs have learned to review quickly and when there is a break in play.

This is long overdue and would have happened years ago had FIFA not been inept and corrupt.

Football is a brilliant sport but its officiating is miles behind other sports. Video replay is also the easiest way to combat diving/simulation, the most embarrassing part of the sport.

Hopefully it will help eradicate diving, sneaky fouls, timewasting etc. Am not sold on it yet but happy to give it a crack.

You can also argue that a video replay for a try/ no try in rugby union can be a lot of fun for the spectators and adds to the atmosphere.

I think Team manager should be request and review the video replay and not just only Referees. Otherwise, the referees’ corruption in game like World Cup will not be stopped. The problem is referee ignored and rejection of other team players request and their dispute over the goal and offside and critical rule over given penalty. If referee has ignored and refused to review video replay and then there’s nothing will be changed in game. I believe team mangers should be allowed to request reply video.
