Messi, Messi, somehow the world is rooting for him to get world cup...no matter how. Dirty tactics, falling on the ground like dramatic ballerina's, an obnoxious crowd, whistling like hooligans any time the opponent has the ball. This will be all forgiven once they win....god I hope they lose, if they display this behavior tonight.

Well said(!);

the Argentinians are bullies, when it comes to football, they’re… “dirty”… example: after the game against Croatia the players and staff attacked Brazil AND England with some chants, many people don’t know about this; (but) it’s not surprising. (I believe that France will win tonight; they’re stronger (by far), anyway.)

To fill up air time, articles in the media and podcasts, I’ve come across the argument that the greatest of all-time is a choice between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

This one is asking if Messi can take his place next to greats of previous generations.

So if Messi has a poor game but Argentina win the World Cup final, that means he’s the greatest of all-time? What if he has a great game but France win it?

Just in my lifetime based on watching individual performances in World Cups, I’d rather have a peak Ronaldo ( R9 ), Zidane or definitely Maradona in my side over Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo is (also) a showman, so from that perspective, peak CR7 is [(considered by many to be)] the best player of this generation (at least), because he’s an amazing athlete (hardworking individual), incredibly talented and very entertaining (it’s all there; that’s why he was called “the machine“ by his teammates when he played at Real Madrid); Sir Alex Ferguson said that he can score an hattrick against any team and is a more “complete” player; that puts him above Messi; he succeeded in England, Spain and Italy, and he also carried his mediocre national team for more than a decade. Messi’s Argentina was always a stronger team, with or without Messi;

..

“ In 2015, a star-studded Argentina side lost the Copa America final to Chile in a penalty shootout. A year later, the Albiceleste were beaten again by Chile in the final of the Copa America Centenario, Messi missing a penalty in yet another shootout defeat.

After a third-place finish at the 2019 Copa America, Argentina finally ended their wait for a major title with victory at the 2021 tournament, beating arch-rivals Brazil in the final at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. “

Seriously, how many Copa Americas they needed to invent for Messi to finally win one(?); and they wonder why people call Copa America a joke…; it’s not that prestigious, actually, it’s far from being a prestigious tournament and it’s also easier for Brazil and Argentina to win. Now compare that to the European Cup aka the “World Cup without Brazil and Argentina”.

Japanese media as many others only have a word : Messi and Argentina. Dirty plays in almost all manches and with Netherland, its the best example.

Last world cup he said it was the last time he will appear on national team and look!?

He will fail again as in front of him, there is a better and clean team!

Messi is the best play ever by far, and this Argentina team is outstanding in terms of talent and fighting spirit. Prediction Argentina 2 - France 0.

I predicted the winner of France v England would go on to claim the Cup, and still believe it. However I certainly would be happy for Lionhearted Messi if he goes out with the ultimate prize! It is no less than he deserves. He alone carries a nation on his shoulders.
