Because of things like these, immigration has to be very selective..

Poor Europe, you are in decline..

Morocco's victory... was enthusiastically celebrated by fans with Moroccan immigrant roots in many Belgian and Dutch cities.

Their loyalty is clearly with their birthplace countries, not the Western countries where they choose to live, work and raise their children.

Poor Europe, you are in decline..

Japan's population drops by more than a million people every 2 years.

If you think Europe is the one in decline you're living in Fantasy Land.

Morocco's victory was a major upset at the World Cup and was enthusiastically celebrated by fans with Moroccan immigrant roots in many Belgian and Dutch cities.

Immigrants? Who invited these people? What kind of visa process they went through to finally be able to live and contribute to the society they feel like home?

It's a sportsball game, not a war.

Their loyalty is clearly with their birthplace countries, not the Western countries where they choose to live, work and raise their children.

set electric scooters on fire

I've never seen an electric scooter on fire. Do they go up well? Maybe they could become an eco-friendly weapon of choice for the urban street fighter as Europe descends into the inevitable chaos it has been brought to by its woke, pilfering leaders who cared nothing about their citizens.

WHAT has gotten into these seemingly nice Belgians and Dutch?

WHY has the sleepy lands of chocolate and windmills suddenly turned so violent?

WHAT is going on??

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

@casadeoctane. Some of the cheaper models of electric scooter have been known to burst into flames when recharging, especially if they have been tinkered with. In the UK fire brigades have issued warnings.

Nothing wrong with supporting the country of your birth in sport, even when you migrate. It's normal to feel an allegiance to both.

I didn't see the Morocco game, but the surprise result wasn't that surprising. Belgium were poor v. Canada. If the Canadians could have hit a barn door, they would have easily won. Some of the Belgian side are getting on a bit and lack pace. FIFA rankings aren't the best form guide.

Just what does this have to do with immigration?? Nowhere in this story is it specified that the rioters were Moroccan. They were more likely locals who couldn't take a loss.

Locals couldnt take a loss? Why would the Dutch start rioting in The Netherlands because Belgium lost?

These riots are taking place in Morroccan neighborhoods, as reported in other outlets. Not exactly the way to endear yourself to the locals. They will lose a lot of goodwill, very quickly. It is actually disappointing that 2nd generation Moroccans would not be supporting Belgium if they were born in Belgium, as a great many were.

Ask the person who wrote the article, who describes "fans with Moroccan immigrant roots."

Sounds like Detroit thankfully minus the gun violence.

Detroit, as hellish as it is, doesn't have record rape and bomb attacks like say, Malmo, Sweden.

I almost feel bad for the Belgians and Dutch. But then I remembered they voted for this.

Talk about an own goal...

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

To be clear; the rioters were young Moroccan lads. There has been a huge problem

with these youngsters in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Raised without the strict islam family rules and exposed to western freedom created a

generation of uncontrollable young thugs. They have Dutch/Belgian citizen ship so they can't

be shipped back to a country which doesn't have the need for them anyway.

@Little Joey underlining the reason.

Wherever you have immigrants given undeserved advantages (citizenship,, subsidies, etc.), you create ghettos.

How many unsecure places the Europeans leaders have created ? Probably hundreds, and this is not news because it's happenning everyday on a smaller scale.

Deliquency is taking advantage each time with any fan celebration or demonstrations.

And nothing is done to stop it.

Personally, I never go to street celebrations. On Champs-Elysees celebration. Just too risky.

@JeffLee

Their loyalty is clearly with their birthplace countries, not the Western countries where they choose to live, work and raise their children.

Their loyalty is with their ethnic identity, which is Moroccan. They don't have to throw that away when they immigrate to the Netherlands. They cheer for their identity.

However, Europe clearly has an integration problem, and the roots are pretty messy. Europeans in general need immigrants from Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia to do their dirty work. They are paid reasonably well, but they are treated as outsiders. And their reaction is to fly the outsiders' flag. Hardly a model for a well-adjusted, integrated society.

This violence is stupid. Stupid. But you can see where it's coming from.

Are you seriously unaware of the... ahem....acclimation issues both countries have been having with their young citizens from North Africa?

Really?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

It wasn't Belgian people rioting, it was immigrants. Mainly those from Morocco. Every photo and European news station shows this. Pointing out the truth is never vulgar or offensive. Unpleasant maybe, not what you want to hear? Often. But still the truth.
