In the recent past in the run up to FIFA World Cup tournaments in Japan and South Korea, or in Brazil, or Russia, and in South Africa, rituals of mourning, weeping and gnashing of teeth were on full display in several countries in the Global North. Later those very professional mourners were seen enjoying the real world cup events and some were even seen blowing the Vuvuzelas all over South Africa and triumphantly returning to their countries of origin with Vuvuzelas in their hands and more in their suitcases.
