So sad to see Japan go out on penalties, but a win would have only delayed their exit by one game. Crossing my fingers for a Brazil x England final

Alisson Becker is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Japantime
I think Japan could beat Brazil. They are the best team in Asia and attack relentlessly every game. They beat European teams in the earlier matches. I think Brazil would have been very surprised and danced less against Japan.

Why do so many countries "bother" playing in the WC then!!!!!
Or doing anything else for that matter, given you might lose.

You have zero to base this on, especially since Japan couldn't even do anything but kick the ball across the ground in the shootouts. I think Brazil would be dancing more, and to a tune of 8-0 or so.
No big surprise to see Korea get outgunned and put out here. A tough opponent. Still, SK should be proud, as Japan, to make it again to this round and to have even scored one against Brazil.

Great win! Keep on rolling and win it for Pele the GOAT.

So much noise about Asian teams, for them eventually to be lessoned by South Americans and Europeans.

Brazil sure does looks like the team to beat, especially based on how they played in the first half.

Brazil could have easily won this 8-0. Once Spain beat Morocco tonight, it will be yet again all Euro- South American quarterfinals. FIFA should look at reducing the number of Asian teams and increase Euro-S Americans ones. No way Brazil would beat Italy 4-1 if at all. Fans are entitled to see the best teams period, not ones selected because they come from a certain region

The Samba Kings are peaking at the right time. Seleção Brasileira look compact in defense, versatile in midfield, and deadly upfront. Well played Brazil and well played South Korea.

Ok, sure, this is football, nothing’s impossible, but in nine out of ten games, NO. Imo the Japanese players knew they would probably lose but they wanted to experience one of the most unforgettable games of their careers; same thing with the fans: they just wanted to watch their team play against Brazil; yes, they’d lose, but it would still be a celebration and a reminder of how far the team was willing to go. The Brazilians were excellent yesterday(!); I agree that they’re the favorites (by far); but(!) careful with England, France, Spain and Portugal (if they play without Ronaldo).

says the Korean who thinks every win by Japan is just luck. Korea gets destroyed by Brazil in this game. Yet he says Japan would have fared worse by what measures? This is the same guy that thinks a manager has nothing to do with winning, just the players. Lol, jss as pan would have lost more because because because, it’s Japaaaan, waaaaah!
