Barely managing a draw with woeful Belgium is hardly a great sign for Croatia. Anything is possible, but my feeling is they will struggle to keep up with the energy and creativity of Moriyasu-Japan.

Luka Modric is lying spread-eagled on the grass, like most tennis players after a game. Why?

Because humans have upright posture and, while standing the heart must pump blood against gravity and, after a game of football or tennis the heart must be hurriedly relieved of all the hard work it was subject to and, so the players get horizontal.

Croatia can’t keep up with the ”Energy” and “creativity” of Japan…; at this point, I think you’re just trolling…; I mean, I want Japan to win, but I’m not gonna make it seem like they’re brilliant.

Today  06:27 pm JST “ Come on Croatia! Europe is behind you against negative Japan. “

So much negativity… why? If you like Europe so much, there’s Spain, Portugal, England, France and Holland for that; don’t just wait for Japan to lose. smh(!)

Today  07:25 pm JST “ What's wrong with wanting Japan to lose?

There's enough people wanting other teams to lose. I don't like the way Japan play football. It's negative and when they win, anyone would think they've won 600 world cups. “

It’s the only way for them to win games; with “positive” football (what’s that, anyway?), they would be home already; and sure, Japanese media can be annoying and people become too proud with this team when in reality they’re still one of the weakest teams in the tournament but this country is my home now (idk about you but my guess is that you live in here too), so imho we have every reason to support the Samurai Blue. And even if we don’t care, it’s still completely different from actively supporting the OTHER team; I agree with the previous poster: you couldn’t care less about Croatia, you just want Japan to lose. Sad.

In modern day football when players labor for their livelihood at foreign clubs in foreign countries, their sense of patriotism comes under scrutiny. Diehard fans have their own yardsticks to measure. Samurai Blue of Japan and the Kockasti of Croatia are bringing joy to their fans. May their tribe increase.
