No way. When it was 24 teams format, it was so tough and interesting.After they changed it to 32 teams, lowest 7,8 teams are no match , they almost loose every match which I noticed during last three four world cups.

Leave it at 32. Plenty of room for good surprises - Costa Rica and Algeria helped light up the last World Cup.

I am for the 48 format. Would be love to see the likes of Iceland in a World Cup. Also, purists said WC would flop when FIFA reformed the 16 format to 24 and later to 32. Any format FIFA choose, the sacred cows of soccer will reach the finals anyway: Italy, Argentina, France, Brazil, Germany, Spain and England.
