2020 Tokyo Summer Games, already delayed by one year, is feared to be canceled or postponed again with the number of new coronavirus infections rising in Japan.

Feared by whom? Not me nor most JT readers. As for China? Let them have their little show. They'll be the only nation who attends, aside from those nations indebted to their belt and road empire.

Nobody will travel to China for the next how many years.

Only idiots will travel to a country where the virus was created, the truth hidden and lies told to the public.

And nobody wants to catch an additional or new virus coming from there.

The 2022 Olympics in China.

The epicenter the pandemic. Can't wait to see what propaganda they throw at the world in the months leading up to the games. Should be quite an opening ceremony.

Many countries don't thnk very highly of China. Again, should make for a very interesting international crisis, I mean games.

with national pride at stake

The root of so many problems in the world.

Boycott!

2 ( +13 / -11 )

The world does not need totalitarian, evil countries like Russia and China competing at the Olympics, let alone hosting them

Cancel Beijing 2022 outright.

"The worst-case scenario for China is that the pandemic will continue in other nations through late 2021 and many of them will boycott the Olympics. China does not want to hold a large-scale athlete festival only for Chinese people," he added.

A more plausible scenario is a mass international boycott for political reasons rather than for public health concerns.

China knows what is at stake so that is why they have been going around acting they are pandemic-free and even uploaded on YouTube a dance party in Wuhan. I went to the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and enjoyed them. I especially liked that tickets were reasonable and hotels didn't really overinflate their prices like they do with other host cities. I was thinking to go to the Winter Games too until the pandemic hit.

Let's see: the Chinese CCP confiscating samples from a researcher trying to ascertain the origin of Covid-19 and ordering them to keep silent.

The CCP arresting nuns in Hong Kong to ensure any voices against the CCP in any way at all are crushed

And back when the virus started the silencing of Dr. Li Wenliang who wanted to warn others about the virus (a name which should not be forgotten)

I do not see any visit to China forthcoming in my lifetime. Not my kind of place. Unfortunately in today's world it is all about the money so people will sell their souls and values for China or access to their markets

No one can run Olympics based on lies.

Olympics Games is a celebration of humanity, freedom and friendship among the nations. I did not find any of those values in China. Cancel them, no one should travel to communist totalitarian country.

As a general rule let me first all tell you that the Winter Olympics don’ t bring much economic advantages, if any. Just ask the Koreans.

Games will go ahead in Beijing as a totalitarian state does not have to answer to the public. But, will it be Olympics or replacement Chinese Games ? I am all for a boycott but the IOC can not afford one after the imminent cancellation of Tokyo 2021.

CCP virus no thanks. I think no matter me would want to go after all the mess from the pandemic has caused. Cancel cancel cancel

Based on China's treatment of various minorities (not to mention her own people in many cases), the Tibetan issue, the Falun Gong issue, the East China Sea issue, trade issues and so on, China doesn't deserve to host such international events. They also are led by a dictator who has said he is their eternal leader. China wants to be part of the international community but also wants absolute control over its people. Can't have it both ways like this forever.....

I hope the international community boycotts the Chinese games. Genocide, human rights violations, undermining of democracies worldwide, aggression and attempts to claim virtually the entirety of the South China Sea, even state-sponsored drug cheating at Olympic level- the reasons are myriad. I doubt that it will happen, but it would send a message, at least.

But you could directly pick up the only working vaccine there, as only they can know exactly what it has to consist of and surely does not go to export. lol

Ban The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Really. Seriously. Just ban it.

"It remains uncertain whether the Tokyo Olympics will really take place in 2021" according to a "source".

It's not uncertain according to the IOC or Tokyo or the many previous articles here on JT. The summer Olympics and Paralympics will go ahead in some shape or form next year.

If I chose a Pin Number it would be 2024

Classic @Monty ! ! Can't stop laughing ! Sooo funny !

Quite honestly I am almost certain there is already something new circulating over there on the exotic pet cuisine markets.

100% Correct.

Why not just stop investing in China?

Akie

No one can run Olympics based on lies.

And yet Beijing 2008 went ahead...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Ok once more show of hands pls, who among us here actually boycotts China?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

If I was a billionaire, I would see it as my duty to book out the Beaver Creek Resort, invite and PAY athletes to boycott China and instead compete at Beaver Creek. Freedom and humanity reign supreme.

It's not uncertain according to the IOC or Tokyo or the many previous articles here on JT.

You actually trust those sources?

Please distinguish between the Chinese government and the Chinese people. I've met lots of really nice Chinese people, and enjoy their company even if I dislike some of their government policies.

I don't see a problem.

China will have completed vaccination of its population before the Winter of 2021.

Likewise vaccine should readily be available to Olympic athletes around the world by 4Q2021.

It is the Tokyo Olympics that's screwed since vaccination of Japanese population won't be completed by July 2021.

Boycott the Communist Party Winter Olympics.
