That would be cool.

Nice deal. The idiot says some totally ignorent, blatantly racist things, and then gets rewarded to the toon of $2 billion. And he only paid $12 million for the team. And his lawyer says he won't sell. He must be as stupid as his comments would lead you to believe.

Donald Sterling had a track record of racist behavior for decades. The latest TMZ scandal was just the final straw.

At first, it seems like the Sterlings are going to make out like thieves on this deal, but when you consider the capital gains taxes and the charitable payments needed to get back in the good graces of California's upper crust and the formerly supportive NAACP, and years of legal bills needed to thwart any number of skeletons from the already mentioned years of blatant racism, I'd say they will just about break even in the end. So much for a relaxing retirement.

This sales talk is complicated. Donald will sue,, his wife wanted to keep,i Violation of privacy conversation, he has been sleeping with none-white, so he is not racist, etc beside many people want Oprah and/or Magic to buy, etc . About all of the multi billionaires are staying away. His lawyers is on CNN talk show. We have to wait.

He only does that so he can resurrect Clippy...

USD 2 billion is overkill as compared to the sales of other franchises in NBA (Bucks USD 550M, Kings USD 534M, etc...) Even if the Clippers are a better franchise, it is difficult to recover this investment. Ballmer was not a good CEO in Microsoft. This offer proves this fact over again.

Clippers lost ad sponsors both local So. Californians and National. It takes more than 2 billion than name(s) recognition of owners to attract back ad sponsors. Who are known in USA? Oprah? Magic Johnson or Ballmer who became billionaire because of Bill Gate?

Sterling and his legal team will find 20 different ways to sue the league, all will fail. His past behavior has shown that he's happy to sue even if he knows he won't win, just to irritate the person/entity he's suing. He's a really, really bad person.

Cut and paste of latest info. Just his wife did. Not Sterling.

Ballmer bid higher than competitors that included Los Angeles-based investors Tony Ressler and Bruce Karsh and a group that included David Geffen and executives from the Guggenheim Group, the Chicago-based owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Geffen group offered $1.6 billion and the Ressler-Karsh group $1.2 billion. People familiar with both those offers said they were rejected.

Ballmer and Clippers co-owner Shelly Sterling concluded a deal late Thursday afternoon. But Bobby Samini, an attorney for Donald Sterling, said as he left the team co-owner's home: "There's been no sale. There can be no sale without Donald's signature."

The sale price would be almost four times the previous NBA franchise high: the $550 million paid earlier this month for the Milwaukee Bucks. It is the second highest price ever paid for a sports team in North America. The Dodgers sold in 2012 for $2.1 billion.
