Can't wait for the Olympics to be highlighted by media because of this type of chaos.

Hopefully a lot of the 'explanations' given by the police, French politicians, and members of UEFA will be called out and proven for the lies they are.
I have seen many videos from professional journalists showing French youths jumping fences.
I've seen many videos from authentic news outlets showing families, elderly fans and children getting teargassed by the police.
I have seen articles explaining the crazy logistics of trying to funnel (kettle) thousands of fans approaching the stadium gates through 2m wide paths - directly next to 10m wide walkways that had been blocked off.
I have seen dozens of camera phone footage taken by supporters waiting in lines all around the stadium and am yet to see a single one showing any supporters behaving badly.
I have heard evidence directly from Liverpool players (Robertson) who said official tickets used by the players' family and friends were being declared as fake at turnstiles.

The types of people who attend Olympic events and soccer games are very different. There is a strong thuggish yahoo element attracted to soccer that will look for the tiniest excuse/opportunity to cause trouble.

And this is exactly what the French police and authorities want you to believe - that it was thugs and hooligans that caused all the problems.
It was not.

French police will probably go on strike before The Olympics anyway.

I had a couple of mates attend the game. Season ticket holders, genuine tickets. They both said that the scanners didn't recognise their tickets. They were kept standing around for several hours, occasionally gassed and frequently tormented by the cops. No water, no toilets, no explanations.
Eventually they let them approach the stadium, scanning the tickets of every other person. One made was let in without scanning, the other told to join another set of fans who had to wait some more and be harassed by the cops again. Eventually after scanning his ticket 5 times 'the computer said yes'.
When they left the ground the cops were nowhere to be seen, and they had to leg it to the station as there were some dodgy gangs mugging people as they left.
These fans were there for 3 days, they said there wasn't any trouble until the cops game along on the day of the game and started battering & gassing people.
I was in France for the World Cup in '98 and they were exactly the same, just roaming around and aggravating people until they reacted and then they batoned them into the pavement.
Paris is totally unfit to host major events with them involved.

The organizers and police are responsible for what happened here and extremely lucky a more serious situation did not develop. The basic plan for the match was highly flawed and the police should have responded faster when it was clear it was not going to work.
Thousands of Liverpool fans arrived early but spent a large chunk of the game outside the stadium, some of them being teargassed or pepper sprayed. It is to their credit that some kind of riot did not break out in the face of such provocation.
Just for the record, I support another football team and wanted Liverpool to lose because I hate the pro-Liverpool bias in the UK football media. You do not need to like Liverpool FC to see that their fans suffered a clear misjustice here.

French local thugs for the large majority, but hey it is an open secret no to tell anyone ;)
People need to know France is invaded by hordes of illegal aliens AND many French that are French just because they were born here but are let behave like thugs, because you know France is the reason for all their misfortune. Result of French outdated socialism for about 40 years.

Agreed. This was abysmal from the UEFA organisers and the French police. I'd like to see more from the useless Nadine Dorries than some weak tea "urging".
That's no excuse. Other cities and countries manage these events without gross police thuggery.

A short overview of events here illustrating how poorly the fans were treated, and how scandalous many official statements have been.
