As an asthma sufferer I sympathize, because of the condition, and a sudden asthma attack can be quit scary, especially while cycling, and could start a panic attack if medication is not available. I believe there should be no doping in sports, but medical conditions are such a grey area. You can't hold back any person who dreams of being and athlete because of a health condition that can be managed with medication, or are we just turning sports into a health free zone.

If that medication gives them an unfair advantage, I think they have to either learn to live without it, or if that is not possible, they cannot compete with others who are not able to use that advantage. It's not really a grey area. It's too bad the person got the bad end of life insofar as needing the medication, but that doesn't meant they should get an unfair advantage as a result.

Most top-flight cyclists, swimmers, and athletes suffer from asthma. Its to do with the increased strain on their respiratory system and training and competing in polluted air.

As I posted the other day, the testing organisation should be the ones to apply the exempted medication. There should be no way that a team can apply increased doses but the current procedure allows the teams to apply exemptions. I think Froome should be stripped of the Vuelta, but in the scheme of things this is not in the same ballpark as Armstrong.
