That's a shame for those people. I think Japan can put together a nice tournament if they can remove the entry restrictions into the country.

Maybe Indonesia didn't get the memo yet: large parts of the Islamic world are fine with Israel now and the Palestinians can sink or swim.

Very strange decision from Indonesia to advocate not allowing certain citizens into their country. Especially when they only qualify by being a host. Give the young lads a chance.

Bali's governor had also joined the anti-Israel chorus and around a hundred conservative Muslim protesters held an anti-Israel rally in Jakarta this month.

The Balinese muppet refused to allow Israel play on Bali and the tournament draw had to be cancelled the other day. FIFA didn't have much choice.

What a shambles. They must have known that FIFA would do this, they don't tolerate political interference too well.

Indonesia just shot themselves in the foot. I'm actually shocked they were awarded the tournament - it had a high likelihood of turning into a disaster anyway. The stadia there are flat out dangerous and deadly crowd events are not rare.

Another Asian Confederation nation with great infrastructure - such as Japan, Australia or South Korea - could step in (if they wanted it) and easily host this tourney.

I don't advocate banning any team's country from participating in international tournaments on political grounds.

Only if they have failed doping tests or broken qualification rules.

Those two "influential" governors blew it for their country's soccer fans and future hopefuls.
