Congratulations to Lewis on winning, livening up the championship, and maybe saving Silverstone for another year or two. Ferrari punctures were proof that truth can be stranger than fiction. Congratulations to both Finns for excellent driving. Poor Seb has to take the ball-crushing hand of fate this time around, despite all indications that he was going to do something blistering.

And we must mention Max Verstappen who showed his driving potential against Seb, Ricciardo for slicing up through the field, and Fernando Alonso who surprised almost everyone by pulling out the stops and taking his Honda McLaren to the No. 1 spot, top of the time sheets in Q1.

A Mercedes victory at Silverstone was never in doubt as it is a power circuit. Perhaps we will see more of a challenge from others at the Hungaroring. Seb isn't out of it yet. I thought his duel with Max in the first laps was exciting stuff.

How can you not feel for Alonso. Such a great driver confined to a decent chassis with the worst engine.
