“But that is in America and I don't know if me doing anything here will particularly help ... we're in Belgium, we're not in the United States.”

What a joke!

Just exposed the fraud that he is.

Why then continue taking a knee all through Europe, when it is completely irrelevant in a place like Belgium? Belgium is not the US, Lewis. Taking a knee there wont "particularly help" anyone.

Not a fan of Krapernick but he did make a sacrifice and has never played the game again. Hamilton has his own agenda and won’t make any personal sacrifice.

I wouldn’t count on Lewis Hamilton sitting out any F1 races.

Not in a million years.

We called it yesterday. Note the downvotes (LOL).

Even though Hamilton has accused the world of F1 as being racist, he is still there and taking the money-nice one Lewis!

Excellent point. Taking the knee doesnt cost him any money (talk is cheap) and wins him brownie points with wokeists.

He loves to lecture us on the enviroment too. Of course he himself has got about the biggest carbon footprint of anyone in the world! You have to laugh.

What's the best thing about being a rich and left wing like Hamilton? The rules of moral consistency don't apply.

Hamilton sold his private business jet to reduce his carbon footprint. He's gone vegan. It's a fine line he treads. I really do think he has done a lot of soul searching, and a situation like this will have tested him again. He's got the Mercedes team and F1 pretty firmly behind him so far. At least he hasn't flip-flopped like Naomi in tennis, although I think she did the right thing at the right time.

The historical and contemporary problem in the US is very different from that in Europe, so I agree that there is a limit to how much solidarity he needs to express here.

He can't win either way. If he boycotts, there goes the ONE black driver in the sport. You know the guy people pay to see. If he doesn't boycott, he's called out for being a fraud or selfish. In his position, I'd race, go for the win, then use every interview to mention some of the black technical staff and engineers that made the win possible, and dedicate the win to the black lives.

I cant sympathize with that. He wants it both ways. If hes gonna do it then do it properly - that I would disagree with but respect. Instead hes playing at being “woke” and revealing his hypocrisy. Just like Naomi Osaka.

He can complain and compete because as long as he is winning, people are listening. If he wasn't a champion, how relevant would his decision to participate or not to be?
