Anyway its a shame after a record performance that Hanyu only has a 3.93 point lead. He'll have to be on his game to stay in front. He always has trouble with stamina in the free program.

Some of that was back in the day when the "arty" components were considered a little too fey by the judges. Also, some of the judging was more than suspect for other reasons. Thankfully that has changed and artistic expression is considered important. New judging rules have been put in place to ease--but not erase--corrupt practice.

But curse? No. It's a circumstance and can be overcome. Whether it will be or not, that is the joy and the agony of the Olympics.

Sad to see Plushenko go out like this, he was so brilliant in his prime. He has given Hanyu a lot of support apparently, so now we true have a changing of the guard. Hanyu was brilliant in the short. I hope he goes all the way and gets the gold!
