An absolute tool.

He epitomises everything that is wrong with Japan.

Send him hone to watch soap operas and read newspapers - put him out to pasture.

Ok, he won't have any "official" role.

Does that mean he will stop receiving ¥2 million each month of our money?

Or are we supposed to view paying him to keep his mouth shut and stay out of the spotlight as somehow better than his being an active disgrace on the name of Japan?

Either way, he's still got his snout deep in the trough, and our grandchildren yet unborn will still be paying off his tab.

Some people just don't get rules applied to them.

This © KYODO article is contradictory from one paragraph to the next.

A day after assuming her new post, Hashimoto, until then Japan's Olympic minister, is moving to quickly create her team as preparations near the final phase with just five months left before the games opening ceremony.

Yet...

Still, the 56-year-old said at a press conference on Thursday that her predecessor is a "special person" and her "mentor" who showed her the way in the world of politics.

And here …

The seven-time Olympian also said there will be times when she seeks the counsel of Mori, an 83-year-old former prime minister of Japan, who retains heavy influence over the country's sports community.

Then.....

Seiko Hashimoto, newly installed head of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic organizing committee.

The newly installed, installed for political reasons?

Who is pulling the political strings? What was Seiko Hashimoto thinking of, or agreed to?

President?......of?

Publish Seiko Hashimoto contract and responsibilities, the J tax payers need to be fully informed and is in the public interest!!

He's still on charge, no matter what politicians/press says. He'll be always the decision taker.

Don't know why this got downmarked when it's right on the money. Putting Hashimoto San up is the most cynical face saving exercise ever seen. Breathtaking in it's disingenuity to women, the codgers like Mori will still be calling the shots behind the scenes.

Let the old man have some free time to reflect on his past mistakes. Maybe he’s gonna realize how big of an a-hole he was / (still) is.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Why was Seiko Hashimoto reluctant to take the role as head of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic organizing committee?

This fact has been reported, however without any reasonable or appropriate follow up.

Also, Tokyo Gov Yuriko Koike role in this fiasco?

It cannot be lost on Tokyo Gov Yuriko Koike, Seiko Hashimoto was Japan's Olympic minister?

If Tokyo Gov Yuriko Koike, so enthusiastically hailed Seiko Hashimoto appointment and that of Tamayo Marukawa, having networked with both for years.

So, why did Yuriko Koike, not run Seiko Hashimoto up the flag pole as a candidate for the role in the first place?

The question remains why did Tokyo Gov Yuriko Koike, steadfastly pin her confidence in Yoshiro Mori?

It's not their age.

It's their attitude.

And how they insist on holding Japan back.

Ugh.

Hashimoto is an embarrassment for Japan

1) I will not accept the role, changed within a few days to..ok then

2) I will not resign from the LDP changed in half a day to present her resignation.

3) she is a sexual harassment offender

4) she is a very very close Mori supporter and is placed there by Mori in reality through his Canon friend.

5) having been an athlete does not mean you have any expertise in management

6) as Olympic minister she did not give a peep.

really, sad.just sad

He can clean up the rooms in the Olympic Village like the used raincoats for example.

Perhaps what is said is just face saving. In the end results are what matters. Its like changing driver 80% along a race course with set start to finish. If the course isn't public information then whose to say changing the driver did anything.

Now all the women have their chance and can show emancipation and force that lady to officially cancel that virus superspreading event within the next days.

Mr. Mori's services are really not wanted at this time, he has contributed enough already.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This is just a PR stunt. The people in charge, the people making decisions are still 70- and 80-year-old men.

Hashimoto will not give Mori any official Tokyo Olympics role

I like her even more!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Yoshiro Mori is actually the most powerful men from Nipponkaigi.

He's still on charge, no matter what politicians/press says. He'll be always the decision taker.

How about "unofficial"? I don't think Puppeteer was ever an official position in government or politics (or the like). I mean, come on... she's obviously going to keep his hands in the pie, or she would have emphasized she wasn't going to give him ANY role at all.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

WOW, first time a Nipponkaigi buddy dumped one of their fellows.
