All such tournaments have tight schedules and sometimes one team is slightly favored over another.
Honda should stop whinging and get on with it. The Japanese team has hardly been extended yet and if professionals at the world elite level can't perform at the world elite level - then don't.
Imagine playing a 4 - 5 hour match in heat at the Australian Tennis open and then be expected to perform again the next day. World Level = World Level.
Honda appears to be covering his back with excuses - lose I told you so, win we tried hard. You never hear the true soul player of the team Endo carrying on.

No browny. In past Asian Cups, Euro Cups, African Cups, American Cups, World Cups and other international cups, each team would have 4 days rest before playing another match. 2 days rest is not the norm for an international football tournament.

'a soapy heart-to-heart' was the best line here.

Actually, Euro 2012 had the same problem with Italy only having 2 days rest before the final of the tournament. Needless to day, they were completely gassed, cramping up, and finished with 10 men because they had to use all their subs early and then a player got injured. They also had 2 fewer days rest than Germany before the semifinal.
Aguirre might regret not rotating the players more in the group stage, but seeing as he might be fired due to the match-fixing fiasco anyway, he probably wants to play the best team every time and go out on a high note.

Jordan - thanks.
Actually Japan played on Tues night and plays again on Friday night giving them what I'd call a 3 day break.
But that's beside the point - with my main point being - get over it and get on with it and stop complaining. All teams have similar pressures and some get a little more luck than others - witness the "easier" draw that Japan had.
It's part of competition and as I said, I didn't hear Endo complaining.

what is this obsession with Endo? he isn't even the captain.
browny1
thero - I mentioned endo twice - obsession - ha, ha!
But I did mention him because he is the senior most experienced player on the team and arguably commands the most respect from players, officials and general community.
And I didn't hear him complaining - altho he may have - but I didn't hear about it.

@browny1
fair enough, but I don't really hear Japanese complaining much at all. They just think, "shou ga nai". Honda is kind of the exception.

Cry-baby Honda! Everyone had the same schedule, including your teammates. If Honda were left to arrange the games they'd all be playing in the stands well behind the goal posts.
