I hope MLB teams realize they can not pay $50 million to bet on the come for Japanese pitchers after the failure of Dice K to live up to expectation. MAtsui should have retired after being MVP of the World Series and come back to Japan to play with his old team and then buy the team. The greatest Japanese play in the MLB is still Ichiro.

Matsuzaka peaked at just the right time.

Dice-K's career in the USA has been a mixed bag. His first two seasons, when he was almost unbeatable and helped the Red Sox win a second world series in five years, were well worth the money. Not so much since then. But at 32, a comeback is not impossible.
