It would've been funny if he said 'Today I feel like a feminist'

Or save your money and watch you local schoolboy team for free. The football would be better,

Like it or not, the women's game doesnt have the same, or even close to the same appeal as the men's, and until that happens, tickets arent going to sell.

Oh it could also be the cost of having to fly "down under", find a place to stay, and then actually have money left over for tickets

With the costs associated with flying today, it's not surprising that fewer people are will to shell out the cash to watch womens soccer.

Thats funny - the story above states that -

"1.375 million tickets have been sold for the month-long tournament in total"

Most spectators for ANY women's sports event in history - and that will keep growing. Of course it is not going to sell as many tickets as the men's world cup.

Last time the men's and women's Rugby world cups were held in Australia and NZ, they did not fill the stadia for every game. Understandable with them being costly to fly to.

One more night before the Cup kicks off! Bring.It.On!

Yet another individual who has a bizarre opposition toward women's sport.

Fighto ..

Yet another individual who has a bizarre opposition toward women's sport.

Not bizarre.... It's just rubbish.

Non league soccer has less interest than the premier league because it isn't as good...just follow that down to women's soccer... They get hammered by a half decent school team. Please enjoy but it's just not for me.

They give them away for free why would you buy them?

EVERY women's sporting team would be beaten by their male equivalent. It is down to strength and physiology. Football, rugby, basketball - the lot. Women do not compete with men in 99 percent of sports.

So - in your mind, all women's sport is "rubbish" because men can easily beat them? You certainly would not tell that to a female sportswoman though!

Pretty clear you never had daughters with that worldview.

One of the reasons is that Soccer is not so popular in New Zealand. People like to watch rugby. I don’t think that they have a professional league in New Zealand for Soccer.

Australia is barely advertising the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

Women's soccer has come a long way but still it is not hugely popular.

@ Yoshisan - perhaps you dont watch Ch 7? It's been all over their network, as well as social media.

1 million tix already snapped up here in Aus. Been trying to get tix to a Matildas game with no luck.

It's a pretty big vibe for the Matildas v Ireland opener tomorrow. Hope the game lives up to it!

Will the organizers make a profit? Or is it just a country PR event costing millions like the Olympics?

Fans travel for rugby and the real world cup of football but I've never heard of anyone traveling for Women's soccer, rugby or any form of disabled sport outside of family members.

That's funny, as this is under half of the mens

It's just an appeal to make money!

FIFA Football World Cup 2022 in Qatar was a memorable festivity for footballers and fans from across the World. Wishing footballers and fans of the FIFA Football World Cup 2023 in NZ and OZ a jolly good time.

Australia and New Zealand are too far away from major population centers to sell tickets.
