I really can't understand the Japanese obsession with this soccer star; the guy was a washout in the WC. One thing's for sure, if they air the game I'm putting it on mute -- I don't need to hear: "Messi this, Messi that, Messi Messi Messi!" over and over and over.

So was Cristiano Ronaldo. So was Rooney. So was Kaka. So was Daniele de Rossi. So was Luis Fabiano.

Fortunately, most people don't just judge players on one tournament. Most football fans judge them on performances over a period of time. Maybe if you did Smith, you would realise what all the fuss is about. Champions League winner, La Liga winner, World player of the year winner: Messi is the best player in the world bar none.
