I don't know why people still support this corrupt and outdated event framework that has its tentacles so deep...

Please stop the madness! With the current Japan/Tokyo Stadium debacle Japan wants to add to the tax payer burden with more Olympic loss making venues. STOP

Hey Sapporo… just say no!

Waste of money.

International Olympic Committee officials on Tuesday began inspecting competition venues in Sapporo, seen as a frontrunner to host the 2030 Winter Games.
As much as the LDP see the Japanese public as exploitable human resources, the IOC and other associations see the Japanese establishment as easily exploitable marks hungry for international recognition and ready to use the public's resources to gain it.

Is this nightmare never going away??
Mr Kipling
NOOOOOOO..... Don't do it!
or if you do, don't use a single yen of my tax money.
Yotomaya
They don't need the support of many people.

No, please no! The next time Japan hosts an Olympics it will probably be hit by the bubonic plague.

Elite have learned they can cut a sweet deal in Japan, as the general population won't kick up a fuss.

Sadly it will almost certainly go to Sapporo.
there will be vocal and strong opposition from the general public in both Vancouver and Salt Lake City but none in Japan. That will be enough to put Sapporo over the top. That and all the money the Japanese govt will throw at the IOC.
OssanAmerica
Winter Olympics have been held repeatedly in the Far East recently. Sapporo shouldn't even be trying to host it. The IOC sees Japan as monetary prey.

From 1972? Really?
Sam Watters
Go to H**l, IOC and take the Japanese politicians who support Japan hosting another Olympics with you.

I was wondering why all the convenience stores were sold out of brown paper bags.

I envy all those who can obviously still work hard and quick enough so that the others can easily throw tons of that tax money out of the window. But maybe there aren’t many of such fit people and they only print the money. lol

No thanks!
Taxes are far too high already!!!!

If Sapporo gets the games, I firmly believe Japan's government will still be restricting tourism to guided (and policed) bus tours from 'approved' countries.
I vote Vancouver/Whistler. At least that Games didn't lose money. And as a British Columbia taxpayer, I'm pretty happy with that.

Isn't 2030 the year that the Hokkaido Shinkansen will reach Sapporo? I see parallels to the 1964 Tokyo Summer Games. That likely will be part of the sales pitch. I'm personally not buying it.

Hey Sapporo… just say no
A lot of people will say no, but guess what? Not a darn thing will happen.
The IOC and the JOC are creepy bed partners raping the common guy.
garymalmgren
The definition of insanity.
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Sapporo still doesn't pay back its debts from the last Olympics.

Good luck with that.

I think that Olympic of 2030 in winter hold on in Japan is very glad and I'm looking forward to this winter Olympic.
When the Olympic can't hold on or delay the Olympic hold on influence of COVID-19, I was very sad and regrettable and felt boring, so when I was watching the Olympic on the TV last year, I felt very happy and so glad and very exciting.
Also, I was very impressed by figure of athletes.
I think that Hokkaido is very beautiful area and place where I want foreign country visitors to go to.
This story make me very excited.
Samit Basu
Japan doesn't have money to waste on stuff like World Cup and Olympics.
Steven Mccarthy
It’s part of the plan to boost foreign tourism . By then it might be safe !

The common guy doesn't, but corrupt governments do.
