KokudoShawn, you make yourself look bad lol. How can you criticize Toshiko and get the manager's name wrong. It's SCIOSCIA

I can understand the English mistakes a bit, Toshiko. But how can you get Mike Socia's name right and mispell Darvish in two different ways in the same post?

There are teams that needs quality pitchers.  Angels is loaded but Players from Japan avoid Angels and NY capture them.  American League games, pitchers don't have to bat when they are at home but because its neighbor Dodgers spend high contract price, every year Angels is in bad luck.  But if Dervish is available, Angels may have  good luck.  Last game against Rangers, Mike Socia was watching Darbish without putting pen in his mouth.   With Angels income,  getting Dervish contract is. Bargain.   Teams don't have to phone their triple A every couple days.

I don't begrudge him the money, he obviously has the talent to pitch in MLB, just seems obscene to me that the sports market, in general, in the US can support paying players/athletes that kind of money to "play" a game.

When that very same market can't afford to pay educators, in many places, a decent wage.

Priorities are more than a bit screwed up, in my opinion.

The government doesn't play professional players' salaries, the owners of the teams do.
