Term and conditions of the contract? confidential (performance based)?

Funny, in Argentinean newspapers they are saying it will be Pekerman. They must be wrong.

expect all the Japanese games to end 1-0 or 0-1, thanks to their Italian coach.

"Zaccheroni, who has not coached outside Italy, will..."

Be in a world of hurt once he finds out how difficult everyday life in Japan can be. Not to mention an overall poor match of soccer styles, first realized by Troussiere... I can still see video's in my head of Troussiere actually demonstrating to the players how to be more aggressive during corners and free kicks- lordy he was grabbing them, shoving them into position and the cracking their domes with his bony elbows... wonderful memories !

OK- so what is the best one can hope for ? Try lots of 1-0 games as Japan will lock it down on defense, take lots of dives- hoping for free kicks, and well... thats about it ! Odd choice this Zaccheroni guy- yes he has the credentials... but he knows nothing of life in Japan or the idiosynchrasies of the average J player- these are a buncha pretty boys not wanting to get their hair messed up. Show me one with a crooked nose or scar over his forehead from violent clashes in the defensive end... you got nothing ! No battle scars, no wounds of any sort... just freshly washed, lemony fresh, full of bounce--- Hair !

Yet when they needed him, in the rain, to instill a bit of passion, a bit of direction he was sat on his ar$e in the dugout. Instead of getting up and communicating with his players. Troussier COULD have developed the Japanese team so much more than he did.

Not the worst manager that Japan has ever had but he should have been so much better.

Just when Okada was doing well. I agree that 'torshay' as he's called here, his time has come and gone. Why does he still appears on tv/commercials is beyond me. Hope the Italian does a better job.

larguero "in Argentinean newspapers they are saying it will be Pekerman"

Really? It was announced on Japanese media, too. or some Spanish coaches. This is surprising for me, too. I don't know well about football & I didn't know him. But after seeing him on Japanese TV with some interviews, I became a kind of fan of him. He looks really gentlemanly, intelligent etc.. I hope he and the team will have a great time in coming this 2 years.

P.S. The very launch (1st match) started well. But it was a Friendly-match for Argentina & away game for them. The next one against Korea in Korea will be something.
