I hope she wins many more trophies in the years to come. A lovely lady who deserves the rewards for her skill, hard work and graciousness.

And in basketball, hopefully the light will shine on Rui Hachimura, currently playing in the US for Gonzaga U. in Spokane, Washington.

Let’s hope Ms Osaka will play a more stable opponent next time.....

Serena William is still accusing umpire Carlos Ramos for being sexism and she is fighting for woman rights and sexism in Woman Tennis. She didn't take any responsible for her misbehavior at the US Open finial. The interview will be coming on Australian TV soon.
I hope, Naomi-chan will concentrate on her tennis and more practice and work harder than before to prove she is worthy winner of the US Open Championship.

Congratulations to Osaka San!
She is the new tennis champion, Venus and Serena had their run!

Good on her. What I don't get is the media's obsession here with translating her "I'm sorry" comment in whatever fashion they deem fit. I've had numerous people tell me matter-of-factly (because they read a Yomiuri article) that she meant "zannen", where that would be a very stupid thing to mean preceding "I won". I asked them if they thought she thinks it's unfortunate she won, and not that she said sorry to one of her hero's for beating her, something other players have apologised for as well.

I could understand the situation itself being considered "Zannen" for the fans that were cheering Serena. But I doubt any native speaker would use the word "Zannen" if they were in Naomi's place. It does sound weird.
