... he needs to learn more from the real players.

Not sure why he keeps playing

When he does play, which is not often, it is only for a few minutes

Wow, hope I'm that athletic at his age!

Getting embarrassing now Kazu. Coming onto the pitch for the last 2 minutes of the game when your team is winning 2-0 is NOT playing.

Really? Good regular income, good healthy regular lifestyle, regular exercise and supervised training programme, adulation from fans, and teams will appreciate him for the positive publicity and shirt sales: he’s an ambassador for J-soccer.

And why shouldn’t he, while he’s still fit and capable? He can start the full time TV pundit gig later. 55 isn’t old.

Why all the hating? King Kazu’s alright!

The evergreen King Kazu is a marvel! Proof that age is just a number if you keep yourself fit and mentally maintain your self-belief. Kazu will do the business in Portugal I am certain.

Go King Kazu!

Much better players can not even find a team and must stop past 35.

As you said, he is a good ambassador. and a marketing tool and PR for a team. Of course, Yokohama does know that and Kazu too. He is a trademark.

But come on, if he was still able to fully play at least 45 minutes and be at the same level than his teammates, why not. Look at his stats for the last few years.

I praise him to keep with his passion and keep healthy, but for me he would be even more praised if he was retiring and be a valuable team or federation staff, use his experience to make the sport better, and a stronger Ambassador.

No hate at all, I like Kazu

All you negative people should just "try" doing anything professional!

I don’t understand all these negative comments…; he passed the medical exams and he feels mentally and psychologically fit to play, so if he wants to keep playing, why shouldn’t he keep doing what he loves the most (football)(?); even if it’s just for a few minutes, professional football isn’t the same thing as playing with your friends during the weekend…, the training…, the adrenaline…, etcetera…, etcetera…, etcetera.

Totally agree with didou!

I guess he goes on just to make sure no one can break his record.

And eventually he doesn't want to mingle with the bureaucracy, be TV talento or flashy coach like this baseball guy (I forgot his name - Shingo?).

He's an inspiration and a good influence on the next generation of young players coming up. If Kazu can still play, he should continue playing.

Japan's 'King Kazu' is an inspiration to the young and to the young at heart. May his tribe increase.
