Not sure why there’s a male coach. It seems fine to have a female coach here and odd to force a male coach.

I don't think it was a forced pushed for a male coach, more of a boys club mentality that looked a male coaches first. I'm also curious if the national Judo team has implemented some sort of mentoring system or pathway for women seeking, key word there, coaching and technical positions.

Clearly BOTH men & women were abused in Judo in Japan, but why is it ok for men...scratches head......

Hopefully its getting better for both sexes here onwards!

It's not okay for men. Just an odd acceptance, which seems, perhaps, set to change after the 'scandal' at Tenri University. World judo champion Shohei Ono was forced to resign due to abusive behavior.

Equality would mean women accept the same abuse as men. Sounds to me like they want "change" not equality. Not even equal change because there is nothing there about changing this for the men.
