Wow. Well done in beating that soccer powerhouse Oman...

That faul from Yoshida was no faul tbh but that was a nice goal by Oman. Japan had a lot of chances but unfortunately couldnt score. I missed Kagawa, couldve been 5-1 then.

I watched part of the game.....................it was so boring.......Japan had possession of the ball about 60% of the time and they had lots of opportunities to score more.................... They need to tighten up their offense & use the opportunities to bring the bal into the net........ Anyway, Congrats.

Oman is tough to beat at home - they have some pretty good African boys they imported that have some skill - so to get the 3 pts was a good job by the Samurai. Would be nice though if the likes of Oman, Iran and Saudi Arabia allowed/encouraged women to attend the games - I didn't see a single female apart from the handful of Japanese ladies, it was a real sausage fest. Get your act together FIFA and kick these nations out ow world soccer unless they join the 20th Century.

Japan was clearly not in their best form, Honda in particular. Dribbling and passes were generally unstable to say the least and Japan was pretty much saved by the critical final touch errors made by the Oman side. Not sure if the poor performance had to do with the climate, but would have been satisfied with a draw based on how they played and consider the win to be a bonus. All in all end result is what counts and good work team Japan for that.

Not a great game. Oman scored on a bad penalty call and it was like watching high school boys play. The heat though... ouch!

Japan won but overall very disappointing game. They were lucky enough not to lose 3-2. (Omar missed 2 goal chances on the first half). Plus compared to other games Japan seemed real sluggish and tired very early in the game. In the end a win is a win and good points for the table. They are unreachable now I think. Unless they lose the next few matches. Australia will need to pull their socks up and get some wins behind them if they want to stay clear from coming 3rd on the table. Come on AUSSIE BOYS you can do it. I can't wait to watch the Japan - Australia game next year :P should be a good one.

The two goals Japan did manage to slot in were both really well set-up and executed.

Great game, great victory! I could not stop laughing....

Oman is the size of a village in Chiba....

Can someone please explain to me why anyone considers Honda a good football player. I have seen the guy for five years now, and I still cannot figure it out.

They do have Hasebe, a man that can play what the rest of the world would also call football, so they know the difference..... why Honda?

oh dear, I think someone needs a geography lesson. Oman is 310,000 square kilometers, almost the same size as Japan (370,000). As for your comment about Honda, do you think the fact that he has scored 4 goals in 5 games during this round have anything to do with it? How about two goals during the last World Cup? And scoring goals is not even his best trait. Those who know his style of play know that his greatest strength is in his ball control / body balance.
